Factors Affecting Stereopsis in Patients with Refractive Accommodative Esotropia

Objective: Aim of this study was to evaluate possible risk factors affecting stereopsis in patients with refractive accommodative esotropia (RAE). Materials and Methods: The retrospective investigation performed on the records children RAE. Two groups were made according presence stereopsis. presumed onset age RAE, at initial correction, mean best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), angle deviations near distance, strong fixation preference, spherical equivalent (SE), cylindrical error values, interocular differences BCVA compared between groups. Besides, SE ocular movement disorders also evaluated groups, statistically. Results: 66 10,7±2,9 years. follow-up time 65,3±25,6 months. 38 had measurable stereoacuity 28 who not composed 1 2, respectively. There statistically significant terms BCVA, difference SE, amblyopia, inferior oblique overaction. Conclusion: Presence depth lower acuity, higher equivalent, concomitant overaction found be potential for maldevelopment esotropia.
